I used to have the most beautiful hydrangeas, until last year, when my yard service pruned them too harshly. They are 10 years old, and used to bloom 4 feet-6 feet wide. Now, one is only about 3 feet wide, and the other is barely starting to come out. Is this because of the drought, also? I will admit, I haven't been watering them, but we have had more rain than usual in our area, so I didn't think it was necessary. There are nice blooms on the one that is out.

Harsh pruning at the wrong time of year and our persistent drought may have contributed to their suffering. I have heard many Master Gardeners say their hydrangeas have struggled due to late frost and drought. Please visit the "Society Page" and click on the link to the American Hydrangea Society. There you will find a wealth of information. G
